About the Journalist

Tim is a Dutch journalist who moved to the US at age 16, where studied history and literature at New York University. Interested in the intersection of history and culture, he has written for Vox, Big Think, New Lines, Jacobin, JSTOR Daily and more. An avid backpacker, he has traveled to Peru, El Salvador, Laos and Eastern Europe, often with a sketchbook in tow.
