A few years ago, Suzanne found her way to Newcastle University’s Gertrude Bell Archive and hasn’t looked back. Over the past year, this has taken her to Baghdad but also to English cities, towns, and villages to see where Bell lived and what she left behind — inspiring Suzanne to write about Bell’s legacy 100 years after her death.
Suzanne is an editor whose daily work focuses on Iraq, producing daily briefings for INSIGHT Iraq in a role similar to the one she held previously at the BBC. Prior to that she lived in Israel and then the West Bank, where she was a reporter/sub-editor for a Palestinian, English-language newspaper. Suzanne has also edited five academic monographs on medieval Middle Eastern history.
She lives in Salisbury, U.K., where she enjoys walking, visiting the local market and eating and laughing with her family.
