About the Journalist
Mike Bernhardt is an award-winning writer whose stories have also been published in print and online by Diver Magazine, GeoEx Travel, Deep Travel, Journey Beyond Travel, and Lamorinda Weekly. He edited and contributed to an anthology of grief poetry called “Voices of the Grieving Heart,” which will be republished in 2021. His poetry also appeared in the book “Finding What You Didn’t Lose” by John Fox. When he’s not writing—or crying about not being able to travel during a pandemic— Mike enjoys the outdoors, cooks Thai and Indian food, and mixes a mean cocktail. He lives in the San Francisco Bay Area with his wife Yvonne and their two cats.
