About the Journalist
Claudio Sieber is a Swiss author and photographer based in Siargao, Philippines, working on stories at the intersection of tradition, identity, and change. His work focuses on communities navigating the tension between ancestral ways of life and the pressures of a rapidly modernizing world.
From nomadic herders in Iran to seafaring Bajau and the last forest-dwelling Penan, Sieber’s long-form projects blend visual storytelling with immersive reporting. His features have appeared in numerous international publications.
After years on the road, his focus has evolved into a deeper exploration of the world’s remaining nomadic cultures, alongside fragile food traditions shaped by place — documenting not only how people live, but what is at stake as these ways of life begin to disappear.
