About the Journalist

Anna has been scribbling since she could hold a crayon, and in September 2021 she turned her hobby into a full-time job and relocated from the UK to Lyon, France. She was drawn by a love of the mountains, and the French language and culture — and oh yes, the wine and cheese.

As a 20-year-old, she worked in a small town in the Auvergne with no public transport. Refusing to be confined to one place, she began exploring the country through a mixture of carpooling and hitchhiking, and the people that she met and places she visited would inspire her later pieces.

Often described as the ‘Duracell bunny,’ or less flatteringly, ‘a gnat,’ Anna taps into her energy to spend as much time as possible running around the French countryside, searching for stories. Her work has been published in Atlas Obscura, Fodor’s, The Independent, SUITCASE, The Telegraph, and many other publications.
