About the Journalist
Shoshi Parks is an anthropologist and freelance writer specializing in travel, history, food, and the environment. Her work has appeared at Smithsonian, NPR, Atlas Obscura, AFAR, Vice, Trip Savvy, Fodor’s, and a variety of other outlets. When she’s not writing, Shoshi is training dogs, snuggling cats, and obsessively reading informational signs.
