Karma Bhutia serves as Community Advisor to the Chyamtang-Kathmandu Welfare Society and has led sustained activism opposing hydropower development in Sankhuwasabha. His campaigns have garnered international coverage in Mongabay and The Himalayan Times. With deep knowledge of the region’s biodiversity and sacred forests, Bhutia bridges Indigenous knowledge and modern advocacy, organising grassroots resistance, policy interventions, and international media engagement.  In the Pathfinder Prize expedition, he provides on-the-ground expertise, ensuring community voices remain central and authentic. He is also a key character in the story, shaping the narrative through his updates, insights, and community involvement.
