Dr. Joseph Henry has 11 years of experience as a professional underwater filmmaker and 17 years as a science communicator creating educational material for classrooms, aquariums, public outreach, and research publications. Henry founded and currently leads Triton Society, an organization focused on conducting marine research and bridging the gap between science and the public through visual media arts. Since its establishment, Triton has conducted 12 research expeditions in nine countries and has created video content on marine conservation that has been viewed by over 110 million people. For “The Rebel Reef,” Henry will advise on scientific significance in various reef locations when shooting for contrast and will lead all virtual reality filming and production. He will also serve as the lead underwater cameraman.
