About the Expeditioner
Barnaby Francis, known artistically as Bill Posters, is an award-winning artist, author, and campaigner whose work interrogates power, justice, and persuasion in digital and physical spaces. His viral synthetic media interventions have sparked global debates on computational propaganda. His installation SPECTRE, created with Dr Daniel Howe, won the Sheffield Doc/Fest Alternate Realities Award and was acquired by the BFI National Archive. Exhibited internationally in venues from Berlin University of the Arts to Banksy’s Dismaland, Barnaby fuses art, research, and activism into compelling visual narratives. As founder of StudioNeural and co-creator of the upcoming Climate Ad Observatory with Oxford University, he brings cutting-edge media innovation and investigative expertise to the Pathfinder Prize team. His expedition role focuses on showcasing community struggles through creative storytelling and disinformation research.
