Wesley Morgan

Wesley Morgan is a military-affairs reporter who has covered the U.S. wars in Afghanistan and Iraq since 2007. A native of the Boston area, he began embedding with combat units as a 19-year-old freelancer.

Wesley Morgan is the author of The Hardest Place: The American Military Adrift in Afghanistan’s Pech Valley.

His reporting has appeared in The Washington Post, The New York Times, and other outlets. From 2017 to 2020, he covered the Pentagon for Politico.

Morgan is a graduate of Princeton University.
