About the Storyteller

Joanna Lobo is a freelance journalist, editor, and author from Goa. She enjoys writing stories about her explorations around the world, the food she eats, and the people she meets. Her work has appeared in Indian and international magazines and publications.

Her current passion is documenting her home state of Goa. Once a Portuguese colony, Goa is a unique blend of Indo-Western culture, food, and tradition. Joanna is determined to highlight this fascinating place through her stories and on her Instagram page, GoaWithJo.

She also sends out a newsletter about freelancing in India called “It’s All Write,” and moonlights as the consulting editor of renowned food magazine, Goya Journal.

Beyond her writing, Joanna loves traveling, seeking out new experiences, petting every possible dog, and living a susegaad (content) life.
