About the Journalist
Allison Nicole Smith is a New York City-based freelance writer. After receiving a bachelor’s degree in English Literature and Creative Writing from Hunter College CUNY, Allison taught English as an adjunct lecturer before moving to Bangkok, where she published stories about food and travel. After a year abroad, she moved back to New York City, working as an assistant media editor in college textbook publishing. Now, she is a student at the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism at CUNY, where she is learning how to not use the Oxford comma.
