About the Journalist

Alison Konecki is an award-winning writer whose curiosity for the world has sent her kayaking with orcas in the San Juan Islands, trekking in Patagonia, herding goats in France, and planting papaya saplings in Costa Rica. She has a graduate degree in Art and Museum Studies and spends her days crusading for the arts. Her travel writing has appeared in AFAR, The Evansville Review, USA Today, Human Parts, and others. She’s happiest when she’s on a trail or wrapped up in a sleeping bag under the stars.
