About the Journalist

Keith Skinner writes fiction, creative nonfiction, essays, and travel narratives. Endlessly curious about the why of things, he constantly probes for the hidden or forgotten stories of the places he visits and the people he meets. Migrations, family histories, the origins of place names, and local folklore are just a few sources of inspiration for his writing. His award-winning work has appeared in such publications as the San Francisco Chronicle, Hippocampus Magazine, Wild Musette Journal, and Travelers’ Tales anthologies. When not writing, he’s either tending his garden, hiking the trails of Northern California, or excavating more stories in some out of the way location.
